A man walking around with a sawed-off shotgun while wearing body armour was arrested by police in Saskatoon this week.
According to police, members of the city’s Gangs and Guns Unit spotted the man walking in the 100 block of 25th Street West on Thursday at around 7:30 p.m. He was stopped, police said, because the officers believed he was carrying a gun.
That suspicion turned out to be correct, as police said the man was found to be “equipped with tactical body armour and in possession of a loaded sawed-off-shotgun, various ammunition, and a small quantity of crystal meth.”
The 31-year-old Saskatoon man was arrested without incident, police said, after officers ordered him to surrender.
He’s now facing charges related to firearms and drugs, police said.
