Police have located a stolen car and its driver after issuing a public warning that the suspect was likely armed and dangerous.
The RCMP issued the warning Tuesday afternoon, saying the vehicle — a Chrysler 300 — was stolen from the Langenburg-Esterhazy area following an alleged assault. Police asked the public to keep an eye open, and avoid approaching the driver as he may have had a gun.
On Wednesday afternoon, police caught up with the suspect and the stolen car at a home near Carlyle, where he was arrested without incident.
The 37-year-old man is now facing a lengthy list of criminal charges, the RCMP said, including assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, pointing a firearm, and theft of a motor vehicle.
He’s scheduled to appear in a Yorkton courtroom later this week, the Mounties added.
