The Saskatchewan RCMP is asking hunters in the southeast to keep their eyes open for any sign of a woman missing since December.
Police said nobody has seen or spoken with Frances Gazeley since she was reported missing late last year.
The RCMP asked hunters in the areas around Weyburn, Ceylon, Minton, Bengough and Colgate to keep a sharp lookout for any sign of Gazeley during their hunts. The RCMP said the start of the annual hunting season means people will be moving through rural areas that are not well-travelled during the rest of the year.
“Frances was known to wear a purple/blue-ish winter coat and short black boots, but keep an eye out for any clothing or other items that seem out of place or normally wouldn’t be there,” RCMP Superintendent Josh Graham, head of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, said in a statement.
Tammy Williams, Gazeley’s daughter, shared her thanks to the people working to find her mother.
“Our family would like to express how much we appreciate all the efforts thus far in the search for Frances,” Williams said in a statement.
“We know all of the hours and miles covered by the RCMP and also local residents. We just hope for news — we just want to know where my mom is. My children need to know what happened to their grandma. If you’re in a remote area and see anything unusual, please contact your local RCMP or police service.”
Anyone with information on Gazeley was urged to contact the RCMP or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
