RCMP officers in Melfort have arrested a fourth suspect accused of committing an indignity to human remains in connection with the death of Megan Gallagher.
Gallagher, 30, was last seen on video surveillance footage at a corner store on Diefenbaker Drive in Saskatoon in September of 2020. In January of 2021, police announced they were treating the investigation as a murder.
In a media release, the Saskatoon Police Service said RCMP officers in Melfort found and arrested 44-year-old John Wayne Sanderson on Wednesday.
Sanderson is one of four people who have so far been arrested in the case. All four have been charged with the same offence — indignity to human remains.
Saskatoon police thanked the community for tips received during the investigation, and asked anyone who has relevant information to contact them.
Gallagher’s family has also pleaded with the public for information on the case, saying nobody should have to experience the uncertainty and loss that comes with not knowing what became of a loved one.
