SaskPower is making lots of progress in bringing back electricity to the southwest corner.
Power lines were ripped out by a storm Tuesday, leaving many communities in the dark for days.
In an update posted Thursday night, the Crown corporation said it had restored power to all customers in Maple Creek.
That includes the water treatment plant, which had forced people in the area to avoid showers, baths and doing laundry to conserve water while it was down.
Crews have also made progress on the small communities of Piapot and Golden Prairie.
However, it’s not complete just yet.
The Nekaneet First Nation went without electricity overnight. SaskPower expects to get the lights back on there sometime on Friday.
Last on the list is the Cypress Hills area, where they don’t expect to have service back until about 10 p.m. on Saturday.
