Premier Scott Moe is taking a detour on his trade mission to Europe.
Moe is taking a break from his business meetings to meet with Ukrainian refugees at a shelter in Kassel, Germany on Thursday.
Moe has already stated the province is prepared to welcome an unlimited number of refugees to the province, but the details of the program were still being worked out with the federal government.
The premier’s office said, following the visit, Moe will provide an update on the trade mission and when refugees might start arriving in Saskatchewan.
Moe’s trade mission includes travelling to the United Kingdom and Germany to promote the role Saskatchewan can play in food and energy security.
