It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman.
No, it wasn’t any of those things, but Saskatchewan people are scratching their heads over a streak of light that flew through the sky Tuesday night.
Multiple videos and photos of the phenomenon were posted online. It was spotted in a few different places, including Regina, Prince Albert, Silton and White City.
Lisa Grieves from Silton saw the light.
“I was just sitting on my couch. My front window faces north and I just saw this thing flying through the sky … I’d never seen anything like it before. It had a little tail. It wasn’t like a satellite. It was really white, bright light,” she recalled.
While she was lucky enough to see it, it was a very close call.
“I hollered right away, but my husband didn’t get up fast enough to see it. Once I stood up and looked through the window, it fizzled away,” Grieves said.
She wasn’t sure what exactly the light was, but she thought it might be a meteor or a comet.
She was asked whether she thought it might be alien.
“I hope not,” she giggled.
Looks like a lot of people saw the fireball last evening…

It was also seen a bit further to the southeast.
Lorna Janeczko saw it on her way home to White City.
“We were driving. It was a pretty dark night … I know it was really far away, but it looked like (it was) right there in front of us. It kind of just looked like a shooting star at first. At first, we looked and thought ‘What the hell is that, a satellite?’ ” she said.
But it didn’t seem like something man-made once she got a better look.
“It was just like a ball heading northwest right in front of us. It was purple, blue and white. It kind of shot across the sky for a few seconds, and then just fizzled out,” she said.
