It has been a long time coming, but gas prices are finally starting to drop in Saskatchewan this week.
On Sunday, gas prices at some stations went down to $1.39 per litre.
The president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, Dan McTeague, expects the price of gas to continue to drop.
He believes it could reach as low as $1.34 per litre over the next week.

Saskatoon citizens are more than happy to fill their tanks again, knowing they’ll start saving a few extra bucks moving forward.
Ann Paton says the timing works out perfectly right before the Christmas season kicks off.
“Well, it’s wonderful news actually. We have lots of family that don’t live in Saskatoon and we’re looking forward to being able to see them leading up to the holiday season,” Paton said.
“Everything else is skyrocketing — groceries and rental accommodations or other expenses. If we can save a little bit of money by gas prices dropping, I’m all for it.”
For Suzy McCracken, the price drop is going to make an immediate impact right away.
“I know my parents will be happy,” McCracken said happily. “They have to commute.”
Some people are quite satisfied with the price change, while others wouldn’t mind seeing a much larger drop before showing any signs of satisfaction.
Michael Robson said high fuel prices have raised some questions regarding the future of his own transportation.
“I would definitely say it’s making electric vehicles more appealing,” Robson said.
