8:30 – According to Blacklock’s Reporter, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau misled Canadians about the country’s state of readiness in preparing to reopen the economy. Blacklock’s Reporter has obtained internal emails that show Trudeau on Tuesday, June 9 said federal agencies were fully prepared for any reopening of the economy with plentiful pandemic supplies. 10:00 – The Liberal Government’s new gun control measures are drawing frustration from law-abiding gun owners, and praise from the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police. President Rick Bourassa says any new rules attempting to reduce gun violence are a step in the right direction. Those comments drew criticism from the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, who say the new measures negatively affect legal gun owners and will not solve issues around gun crime. 11:00 – Saskatoon MP Kevin Waugh has spent years pushing to legalize single-game sports betting in Canada, and his private member’s bill cleared its second reading in the House of Commons in February with cross-partisan approval; 303 MPs voted in favour with 15 opposed. Waugh says his bill would open up access to a $14B industry and give provinces much-needed funds, and he joins Gormley to tell us more. 12:00 – March is Nutrition Month and Eat Well Saskatchewan is doing a #ratemyplate challenge on their social media to encourage people to share how they are using Canada’s Food Guide plate to eat healthy. Carrie Verishagen, a registered dietician with Eat Well Saskatchewan, joins Gormley to talk nutrition and share advice on which foods nourish the body and mind, foods to eat and foods to avoid for increased energy and focus and how important hydration is. She will also share information on how foods impact our mental health and well-being.
