Over the next 72 hours, I will lose sleep, drink too much coffee, overanalyze, read everything and still stress about something so insignificant.
I am a fantasy football owner and a pretty good one.
I’m in three leagues, which is my max, and even then, three may be too many.
But fantasy football has become a monster for engagement with the National Football League. I no longer just watch my team. I watch as much football as possible and the games I pick to watch all relate to who I’m playing or playing against in fantasy football.
This is the type of engagement the CFL needs to find if it wants to see younger people discover its product.
This is where the CFL is losing fans. More and more of the 20-somethings I know and talk to are only watching the NFL, going to the States to watch NFL games and won’t make the trip to Regina to watch the CFL.
It’s the reason I ponder if the future of the CFL will be a new brand known as NFL Canada.
