Saskatchewan reported 36 more recoveries and eight new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
Recoveries outnumbered new cases for the seventh time in the past nine days.
The recoveries reported Wednesday increased the total so far in the province to 1,133.
The new cases — three in the northeast region, two in the Saskatoon area, two in the Regina area and one in the central-west region — increased the total in Saskatchewan so far to 1,376.
To date, 18 residents of the province have died after testing positive for the coronavirus.
The number of active cases is now 225.
Seven people — three in Saskatoon, two in the southwest region, one in the central-east region and one in Regina — are receiving inpatient care in hospital.
Eight people are in intensive care, with five in Saskatoon, two in Regina and one in the north-central region.
Of the total number of cases, 703 are community contacts, 358 don’t have any known exposures, 205 are travellers, and 110 are being investigated by local public health officials.
So far in Saskatchewan, 64 health-care workers have contracted the virus, although not all did so in a work setting.
There have been 352 cases in the far north zone (346 in the far northwest, six in the far northeast), 294 in the south zone (149 in the southwest, 134 in the south-central, 11 from the southeast), 226 in the north zone (98 in the northwest, 63 in north-central, 65 in the northeast), 217 from the Saskatoon zone, 187 in the central zone (159 from the central-west, 28 in the central-east) and 100 from the Regina zone.
The latter number has increased by a dozen cases in the past week.
The total comprises 439 cases in the 20-to-39 age range, 432 between the ages of 40 and 59, 242 aged 60 to 79, 213 involving people 19 and under, and 50 in the 80-and-over range.
There were 786 tests performed in the province Tuesday, increasing the total to date to 105,065.
