Chase Matthew Bagan, 26, faces several charges following a traffic stop last Saturday on Highway 16 near Maidstone.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Roving Traffic Unit was patrolling that area Saturday afternoon when officers saw an eastbound vehicle speeding, according to a media release.
After speaking to the only person in the vehicle mounties believed he had illegal drugs and conducted a search, RCMP said.
The search turned up 848 grams (1.8 pounds) of dried cannabis, 1,774 grams (3.9 pounds) of cannabis edibles, a small amount of magic mushrooms, bear spray and $620 in cash.
RCMP charged Bagan with possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution, possession of magic mushrooms, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
He’s scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court in June.
