The University of Saskatchewan has announced enhanced COVID-19 preventative measures which include closing all buildings on campus.
On Tuesday, all university buildings will be closed, with only limited access to employees deemed as critical to core operations, with most staff now working from home.
The university says at this time, it is anticipated that there will be no in-person classes until September 2020 at the earliest.
Spring 2020 convocation ceremonies are cancelled.
Degrees will still be conferred in June to graduating students but through alternative means instead of in-person convocation ceremonies.
The university says there will be no in-person exams for courses offered during winter term 2020, or spring and summer 2020 terms.
On Tuesday, the university is suspending all but essential on-campus and field-site research, scholarly work, and creative activities.
Research related to COVID-19 is considered to be essential.
