More and more people are self-isolating to try to stop the spread of COVID-19, and a Saskatoon professor wants to make sure they’re doing it right.
Dr. Alexander Crizzle, a professor in the school of public health, joined Gormley to share a few tips on staying safe.
“Stay at home. Try to work from home if possible, do not use public transportation if possible, try to limit your interactions with other people, try to have groceries delivered,” he explained.
“Limit contact with other people.”
However, this might not be practical for people who are unable to work from home.
“If you do have to have contact with people, wear a mask. Try to keep as large of a distance as possible, practice safe sanitation and wash your hands.”
He highlighted that it’s still alright to leave the house to avoid going stir-crazy.
“We’re not telling people ‘you have to stay in your home and do not leave,’ people do want to be outside. It’s completely okay to go outside for a walk, but if you do see someone, just don’t be so close to them,” he said.
“You can still have a conversation or say hi, but don’t get close enough so you can contract the coronavirus.”
He recommends a distance of six feet.
