9:00 – National Post columnist Matt Gurney, who returned to Canada by air Saturday, says the federal government’s enhanced screening measures at airports seemed quite lax in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gurney says he encountered “No questioning about symptoms. No temperature screening. No information about mandatory 14-day self-isolation. No signage, or at least not obvious signage. No multi-language pre-recorded PA announcements with public health details.” Gurney joins Gormley to discuss the federal response to the pandemic so far, and why he thinks some of the screening measures were put into place “days too late, at a time when time is of the essence.”

10:00 – Psychiatrist Dr. Marcia Sirota says many of her patients are so focused on being updated with the constant news updates on the COVID-19 pandemic that they are unable to sleep and concentrate on anything else. Sirota says anxiety can predispose us to gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory disorders, heart disease, a weakened immune system, and even increased susceptibility to viral infections, which means worrying excessively about Covid-19 could actually make us more likely to catch it. Sirota joins Gormley to share some strategies for reducing your anxiety and keeping calm in the face of a scary situation.

12:00 – During the COVID-19 outbreak, many businesses and their employees are starting to take a serious financial hit. The hospitality industry especially has taken a hit during the time of social distancing and travel bans, and companies are scrambling to figure out what to do in the interim. Jim Bence heads the Saskatchewan Hotel and Hospitality Association, and he joins Gormley to discuss the hit the industry is taking, and what governments and consumers can do to help out.
