The Saskatoon Women’s March is back for another year.
Kate Lardner, the communications chair for Women’s March told 650 CKOM this year’s theme is bodily autonomy.
“We are focusing on the issue of consent and making sure that everyone is educated on some of the finer details of consent,” she explained.
The event is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Saturday at D’Lish by Tish cafe on Temperance Street and 14th Street.
Depending on the weather, there are two different routes. If it’s warm enough, the march will cross Broadway Bridge and head to Kiwanis Memorial Park.
If not, it will take a shorter path through the Nutana neighbourhood.
Lardner said there will be keynote speakers from OUT Saskatoon and Saskatoon Sexual Health, a vigil for missing and murdered indigenous women and girls and the march itself.
They’re also taking donations to provide feminine hygiene products to remote communities and to support victims of the Australian wildfires.
Tomorrow we March!!!!Please join us at D'Lish Saturday January 18th at 4:00pm for the 4th Annual Women's March….
