A quick check of the forecast in Calgary calls for rain and snow on Friday and Saturday, with it being sunny but chilly on Sunday.
It’s that time of the CFL season when weather can play a factor.
After beating B.C. last weekend, and learning that his Stamps would host Winnipeg in the West Division semifinal, Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell said in a TSN interview that he hoped for snow. Mitchell said his teammates liked playing in it.
I took that to mean that he believed his team was at an advantage if that was the case. While fans of the prairie-based Bombers and Riders might differ, the Stamps’ starter has a point.
Since Mitchell became a starter in 2014, the Stampeders have appeared in four Grey Cup games in five seasons, and have won two of them. Those numbers aren’t possible without some cold and windy wins.
Like it or not, Bomber and Rider fans, Bo knows how to win in bad weather.
