A trip to the gas station ended up changing Chinmoy Deb Roy’s life.
He gave the clerk a few lottery tickets to check. The first one was worth ten dollars, according to a media release from Saskatchewan Lotteries.
After checking the next ticket Deb Roy got the good news.
“She told me I won $1 million. I said, ‘Really?’” Deb Roy explained in the release.
He gathered his family in the living room to share the news.
The windfall isn’t going to change his life too much as he plans to keep working.
“I feel better when I work,” he said. “I want to have something to do.”
Deb Roy plans to spend some of the winnings on bills and his children’s education.
The free play ticket, which ended up being the winner, was issued at the Acadia Petro Canada on 8th Street East.
