Once again Saskatoon radio personalities Shauna Foster and Rob Suski are helping in the fight to find a cure for breast cancer.
The C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research has raised over 4.6 million dollars for the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency for local research projects since it began in 2000.
Foster said the event puts a face to the disease, which affects 1 and 9 women in Canada.
“You will know someone in your life. It might be a best friend, or it might be a sister,” Foster said.
Foster and Suski know that reality all too well with former co-host Lisa Rendall passing away from breast cancer in 2011.
Rendall was the inspiration for the marathon. Foster said it’s important to continue raising awareness for women to get a mammography.
“Take care of yourself. It’s the only body we have. Doctors are always encouraging us to be your own best advocate.”
C95 is on location until 6:00 p.m. at The Centre Mall. You can pledge your support by calling 306-374-4483.
