There is a small but loud portion of the Bombers’ fan base who actually believe that Montreal’s 38-37 win over Winnipeg on the weekend should be overturned. Really?
The outrage stems from a one-game suspension given to Alouettes quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. Adams, who was penalized 15 yards for removing Adam Bighill’s helmet and then swinging it at the linebacker in the fourth quarter, wasn’t thrown out of Saturday’s game. With Adams in, the Alouettes overcame a 37-24 deficit to beat Winnipeg. Bomber fans are crying foul over what they believe is a missed call.
Before I say this, I know that there are irrational supporters within the Riders’ fan base.
However, to those Bomber fans who think that the win should be wiped off the board, I would say this: Your defence needed to make one stop in the final six minutes or your offence needed to get into field-goal range in one of the last two drives to win the game. Your team didn’t do either.
Get over it.
