The issues began when Canada arrested Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou and began proceedings to extradite her to the USA, and China still has also arrested two Canadian citizens, Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor. Trudeau arrived in Osaka, Japan today for the G20 summit, and while the PM has no meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Donald Trump has promised to raise the issue. To help explain how Canada should be dealing with China amid the tensions, John is joined by Jonathan Manthorpe, columnist and author of “Claws of the Panda: Beijing’s Campaign of Influence and Intimidation in Canada.”
