8:30 – Saskatchewan is calling on the federal government to follow through on the extra help promised for producers who are struggling during Canada’s trade dispute with China. Ottawa announced increased funding under its Advance Payment Program back on May 1, but farmers have been told the program might not be in place until July. According to Agriculture Minister David Marit, many producers are struggling under bills now that seeding is in full swing. He joins Drew now to discuss the issue.

11:00 – The Angus Reid Institute’s new report shows most Canadians support a ban on civilian handgun ownership, with 61% in support. Three-quarters said they would support an assault rifle ban. While they found support for potential bans, the numbers change quite a bit across different demographics. In Saskatchewan, 64% said gun violence is an overblown problem in Canada. Dave Korzinski, a researcher at the institute and co-author of the report, joins Drew now to discuss their findings.
