He also kicked out Jane Philpott, who had resigned her cabinet post during the height of the SNC-Lavalin affair. So what happens now? 11:30 – Bill C-69, which would overhaul the rules around environmental assessments for resource projects, is hitting the road in Western Canada on April 8 as the Senate Standing Committee on Energy, the Environment, and Natural Resources heads out on a western tour looking for feedback as they study the bill. The committee will visit Vancouver, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg, before visiting the east coast on another tour. David Tkachuk, a Conservative senator representing Saskatchewan, has been one of the strongest opponents of the bill and has pushed hard for the western tour. He joins John to discuss C-69 and what he’s hoping the committee takes away from the tour.
