8:30 – Dustin Duncan, the MLA for Weyburn/Big Muddy, stood up during question period in the Legislature Thursday to condemn comments from a Weyburn councilor suggesting group homes for those with disabilities lower the value of nearby property. Although Coun. Brad Wheeler has apologized for his remarks, Weyburn’s council still voted against allowing the group home to be built in the Creeks neighbourhood, drawing a public protest Wednesday. Both Duncan and Premier Scott Moe expressed a desire that council would reverse its decision, saying group homes like the one proposed add value to the community and enrich the lives of residents.
