8:30 – Toronto serial killer Bruce McArthur, 67, will get life sentences for the killings of eight men after he pleaded guilty, but a judge will still have to decide whether the sentences will be served consecutively or concurrently, and whether McArthur is eligible for parole after 25 years or 50. 10:00 – Canada uses the metric system for measuring distance, temperature, and weight, but do Canadians really use it? Ask a Canadian how tall they are and how much they weigh and you’re likely to get an answer in feet, inches and pounds. When we use our ovens, we almost always use Fahrenheit. That’s got us wondering – do you prefer metric or default to the Imperial system? Can we ever get away from the Imperial measurements when we’re so close to the USA? Should Canada make an effort to truly embrace metric, or should we just start teaching both systems in school? Call in and let us know!
