12:00 – Author Edward Willett’s most recent project saw him edit and publish the WWI memoirs of his grandfather-in-law Sampson Goodfellow. Goodfellow fought at the Battle of the Somme, Passchendale, and Vimy Ridge. He joined Royal Flying Corps and became a navigator, got engaged to be married during the war, and survived being shot down and captured. Goodfellow’s good luck seemed to save his life a number of times during the war, hence the book’s title “One Lucky Devil: The First World War Memoirs of Sampson J. Goodfellow.” Willett will be signing copies of the book Nov. 4 at Chapters Regina.
