Wray Morrison: Fake (CFL) News?

Today I come to the defense of those that cover the Canadian Football League.

Some on social media have criticized the main stream media for their coverage of Johnny Manziel since he arrived in Canada, thinking it was
over the top.

It’s not. There is a fascination with this story on both sides of the border. His practices, his trade, his first CFL regular season game is news.

On Sunday Chris Jones watched Terrell Owens run routes on a high school football field in Tennessee. It was a day after the 44 year old was
inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton Ohio.

A listener questioned my editorial judgement today wondering why I would give this story the time of day. Again. this is a Hall of Fame player, taking another shot a pro football. It’s a story.

There are better quarterbacks than Johnny Manziel in the CFL, there are much better receivers than Terrell Owens in the league as well. That
doesn’t mean this isn’t news. It is.
