A Saskatoon police cruiser is going to need some repairs after a collision downtown Wednesday morning.
In a release, police said an officer was travelling on 22nd Street west with the cruiser’s emergency equipment activated to respond to a priority call.
When he reached Idylwyld Drive, the officer stopped then proceeded into the intersection — when the police car struck an SUV that failed to yield.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
Police said they haven’t decided whether to ticket the SUV driver.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story said the SUV struck the police cruiser, according to information from police at the time. A clarification was issued by police Thursday stating dash-cam footage showed the cruiser striking the SUV.
