CFL teams started another week of practice on Monday, and in Hamilton, the cameras were again on Johnny Manziel.
Johnny Football is expected to get more playing time this weekend when the Ti-Cats visit Montreal in Hamilton’s final preseason game.
I was impressed with Manziel both on and off the field in his exhibition debut against the Argos. Manziel was 9 for 11 for 80 yards. We didn’t get a look at his arm strength, but he showed the ability to improvise on the big field and had a command of the huddle.
In his post game news conference, he was humble but determined. Manziel knew that there was room for improvement. He admitted that there is a learning curve. He will get better with time.
Mazniel also said, “I’m not here to be pushed over. I’m not backing down from anybody.”
That’s exactly what is coaches and teammates want to hear.
Manziel’s first preseason CFL game gets a passing grade.
