The Saskatchewan Liberal Party has named Naveed Anwar as their new leader.
Originally from Pakistan, he now lives in Saskatoon with his wife and children.
He takes over for Tara Jijian who had served as interim leader since the fall of 2017.
In a media release, Anwar said he looked forward to bringing a fresh voice to Saskatchewan’s political landscape and offering an alternative to voters in the next provincial election.
The Liberals have no seats in the provincial legislature.
