We’ve heard it time and time again. Connor McDavid can do things at a high rate of speed that most players can’t. Yet when he does something brilliant on the ice, it’s like seeing it for the first time.
Number 97 of the Oilers had a four goal, one assist game against the NHL’s best team on Monday and it was magic.
One of his teammates described McDavid as being from another planet. Even people with the Tampa Bay Lightning couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Tampa coach John Cooper said, “everything you want in a hockey player, he’s got it”. Lightning leader Steven Stamkos believes McDavid is “the best skater in the world”.
It’s been a challenging season in Edmonton to say the least, as a team that some picked to win the Stanley Cup likely won’t make the playoffs.
At least the Oilers faithful are guaranteed of better days ahead.
