The 2017 CFL football season ends this weekend and, as is always the case, there are some meaningful story lines — and some things about week 20 that just don’t matter.
This weekend’s Montreal/Hamilton game is hardly top of mind with neither team advancing to the playoffs.
However, there’s a lot at stake for some teams.
In this football hotbed, it is yet to be determined whether the Riders will go through the west or east for the 2017 playoffs. Both Edmonton and Winnipeg are fighting for the right to host the western semi-final.
My focus won’t be on a particular team, as much as a particular individual.
I’ll be watching former Dino’s pivot Andrew Buckley tonight as the Stamps rest Bo-Levi Mitchell against the Bombers.
It would be great to have two quarterbacks, Brandon Bridge and Buckley, continue to prove that Canadian quarterbacks have a place in the CFL.
Buckley can keep a conversation, which Bridge has already started, going with a solid effort against Winnipeg.
