It’s one of the biggest Equine Expo’s in Western Canada and it’s happening at Praireland Park in Saskatoon for the sixth time.
“It’s the only Saskatchewan event of it’s kind for the horse industry,” said announcer of the show Joe Rybinski. “It’s been a sellout event for six years in a row.”
The big draw is the trainer challenge, where a horse who hasn’t been trained, gets trained in four hours and then does various challenges.
“They ride the horse over a tarp, drag a log, and even picking up a rain slicker,”
John King, has been bringing the horses to be trained from Corning S.K. for the last six years.
“A horse gets into your heart,” he said. “There is just a real genuine connection that we have with horses.”
Demonstrations and information sessions are also being done by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and a tradeshow is going on as well.
