The Highway 11 overpass north of Regina at Highway 6 is closed Tuesday morning after a truck hauling an excavator hit it overnight.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday, regina police and the RCMP were called to the overpass. Police say the truck hauling the excavator was traveling southbound when it hit the overpass.
Not only did the collision damage the overpass, debris was left on the roadway leading to the closure of both lanes of Highway 6.
By 4 a.m., both northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Highway 6 had reopened. However, the overpass remained closed.
No one was hurt.
