HOW TO ADOPT A FAMILY
To adopt a family, complete the form at the bottom of the page or Download the PDF form.
We will work with the Salvation Army to match you up with a family. Please be patient. The Salvation Army Christmas support staff starts on November 16th and from there it can take up to a week or more to match your request. We will email you with the basic info on your family and provide you with the contact number to ask for details and make arrangements for delivery.
Adopting a family means providing a Christmas meal for the entire family and gifts for the children. We suggest spending $50 on food per person & $50 on gifts for each child. For Example: If you adopt a family of four (2 Adults & 2 Children)
Adult 1 — Food $50
Adult 2 — Food $50
Child 1 — Food $50
Child 2 — Food $50
Child 1 — Gifts $50
Child 2 — Gifts $50
Total for family $300
All hampers must be delivered directly to your family by December 22nd. If you have tried and are unsuccessful in delivering, you may drop your hamper off to The Salvation Army. When the package is delivered, ensure the ‘Delivery Receipt’ is signed by both the Adopted Family and yourself. Please email the Delivery Receipt to email@example.com or mail it to Rawlco Radio at the address listed below.
HOW TO BE ADOPTED
The Salvation Army will take applications for Adoptees now through December 15th. Applications can be submitted online, in person, or by phone.
The Salvation Army is located at:

Financial donations help us provide gift cards in special circumstances to people who may have extreme allergies or medical conditions which can make it difficult for them to be adopted. We also supply the Salvation Army with Gift Cards after the December 22nd delivery date to ensure no one goes hungry at Christmas. There are often unforeseen needs that arise after our cut off period. We have arrangements through the Saskatoon Community Foundation to issue tax receipts for monetary donations. To donate online, click the “Donate” button on the top right of this page.
Please make cheques payable to Saskatoon Community Foundation C/O 650 CKOM Adopt A Family and mail it to Rawlco Radio at the address listed below.
650 CKOM created the Adopt A Family program in 1988. Saskatoon businesses, groups, families and individuals can be matched up with a less fortunate family through the Salvation Army or provide a donation to the Adopt a Family fund and receive a Charitable Donation receipt from the Saskatoon Community Foundation.
The families that benefit from the campaign come from a variety of circumstances including job loss, single parent homes, and/or low-income households. The demand grows every year, and with the amazing support of Saskatoon people, the program grows with it. Last year, 265 families including 780 children received gifts and groceries from adopters or gift cards from the Adopt a Family Fund.
