A 52-year-old man was taken into custody after a high-speed chase with police in the downtown area on Aug. 19.
According to police, at approximately 8:30 p.m., in the area of 20 St. W. and Ave. D S., police observed a vehicle known to be stolen and involved in a robbery the previous day.
Before police activated their emergency equipment, the driver sped away, disobeying a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle. He then tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody.
The man is charged with evading police, dangerous driving, hit and run, driving while prohibited and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Man stabbed, suffered non-threatening injuries
A 40-year-old man who was stabbed in a restaurant was transported to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries on Aug. 19.
According to a release, police responded to a physical altercation and stabbing inside a restaurant in the 900 block of 22 St. W.
The 60-year-old male suspect fled in a vehicle before police arrived, but was later found in the 1300 block of 20 St. W.
He’s been charged with aggravated assault.
Window damaged by apparent BB gun
Saskatoon police are investigating an incident where a window was damaged by an apparent BB gun Tuesday night.
According to police, just before 11 p.m., police were called to a home in the 200 block of Penryn Crescent for a reported gunshot.
“Upon arrival, police observed the damaged window and evidence that suggested a BB gun had been discharged,” it said in a release.
No one was injured, but police are asking anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
