A man who escaped while doing community service as an inmate with the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre in May was recaptured on Monday.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in an earlier news release that Garret Gardiner fled on foot into the bush in the area of Martin’s Lake Regional Park, which is 29 km north of Blaine Lake, at around 12:15 p.m. on May 21.

Police said at the time that Gardiner had connections to the Buffalo Narrows area, and did not say what he was in prison for or if he was considered dangerous.
RCMP said in a July 28 release that he was arrested in Saskatoon and appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court the same day.
