RCMP officers in Saskatchewan are searching for an escaped correctional centre inmate.
According to the RCMP, 39-year-old inmate Michael Landry was working with a crew from the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre north of the city near Highway 11 on Tuesday afternoon when he stole a van and took off.

He’s since been charged with escaping from lawful custody, the RCMP said, and officers are working to find and arrest him.
Police asked the public to keep an eye out for Landry, and to report any sightings or information on his whereabouts to the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Landry was described as six-foot-two in height, with a heavy build, brown hair and brown eyes.
“He has many tattoos, include four large numbers on the back of his neck and large letters and a teardrop on his cheek,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“At the time he was last seen, Michael Landry was wearing a grey shirt and green pants.”
The van he allegedly stole was a 2007 grey E350 15-passenger van, the RCMP said, with the Saskatchewan plate 531 FRZ.
“He has connections to the Saskatoon and Regina areas, but it’s not confirmed that he intends to travel to either,” the Mounties added.
“If seen, he should NOT be approached.”
Landry is not the only inmate currently on the run in Saskatchewan.
Last week, the RCMP asked the public to be on the lookout for 29-year-old Devon Ratt. The Mounties said Ratt is unlawfully at large “after leaving the Besnard Lake Correctional Centre,” in north-central Saskatchewan on Thursday.
Ratt was described as five-foot-seven in height, weighing 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He has the word “crooks” tattooed on his right hand, and the words “stay fly” tattooed on his right arm, the RCMP said.
“Devon Ratt is known to travel to the La Ronge area, but his current whereabouts are unknown,” the Mounties said in a statement.
“Officers advise people in the Pinehouse area to be cautious of hitchhikers or people looking for a ride.”
