An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a drug trafficking investigation in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
On Wednesday, members of the Saskatoon and Calgary Police Services believed a man with warrants out in Alberta was trafficking cocaine in Saskatoon.
Following an investigation, police arrested the man at an apartment in the 400 block of Berini Drive and searched the unit and two vehicles.
The following seizures were made:
- $8,335
- 107 grams of cocaine
- 68 grams of crack cocaine
- 2007 Infiniti FX35
- Cell phones (x5)
- Assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking
He’s been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, obstructing a police officer, operating a vehicle while prohibited and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.

Youth on bicycle hit by vehicle
A young boy was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries following a collision between a vehicle and a bike Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to the scene at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Eastview just before 3 p.m.
Traffic restrictions were put in place in all directions.
Saskatoon police released no further details.
Man arrested in April stabbing
An 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery and assault with a weapon following a stabbing that took place on April 20.
Police were called to the 1900 block of 20th Street West where a 14-year-old boy reported the assault.
“He told officers he had been riding a transit bus when he was approached by an unknown male who attempted to rob him before stabbing him and exiting the bus. The 14 year old suffered a minor injury in the incident,” Saskatoon Police said.
Man arrested in May stabbing
“Through investigation, members of Patrol and the Serious Assault Unit arrested and subsequently charged a suspect in a stabbing that occurred in May,” police said in a release.
A 27-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault.
Police believe the suspect and the victim were not know to each other.
Man arrested in April shooting
Following months of investigation, a suspect from a shooting in April has been arrested.
He’s not believed to be known by the victim.
“As a result, the 30-year-old man has been charged with intentionally discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions,” police said.
The incident happened on April 24 at around 8 p.m. on the 100 block of Avenue U South where a person was reported hurt.
Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound outside an apartment.
The man was taken to hospital with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.
