One person is dead after a fire in the 600 block of Avenue N South in the West Industrial neighbourhood of Saskatoon on Saturday.
Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) said in a news release on June 28 that it received a call at 9:13 a.m. about “a possible fire” at the site and sent three fire engines, a rescue unit, and a ladder truck.

SFD said the crews arrived at 9:16 a.m. and saw smoke coming from the roof and visible inside “a structure”. The department dis not explain what the structure was in the release.
The person inside was found at 9:28 a.m. and removed, SFD said, and the fire was brought under control at 9:43 a.m.
The person who died was the lone occupant of the structure, the department said.
A fire investigation is being conducted with Saskatoon Police Service, with the cause and origin of the fire under investigation.
SFD said no other details were available.
