OTTAWA — Canada’s annual inflation rate was 1.7 per cent in May, Statistics Canada says. Here’s what happened in the provinces (previous month in brackets):
— Newfoundland and Labrador: 0.5 per cent (0.4)
— Prince Edward Island: 0.7 per cent (0.6)
— Nova Scotia: 1.3 per cent (1.3)
— New Brunswick: 0.9 per cent (0.2)
— Quebec: 1.7 per cent (2.2)
— Ontario: 1.7 per cent (1.6)
— Manitoba: 1.9 per cent (2.1)
— Saskatchewan: 1.6 per cent (1.9)
— Alberta: 1.7 per cent (1.5)
— British Columbia: 2.3 per cent (2.0)
