The Saskatoon Pride parade starts at noon on Sunday, and a number of traffic restrictions and a bridge closure will be in place to accommodate the big event.
The parade is taking a new route this year, the City of Saskatoon noted, to accommodate road closures at Friendship Park and on the Broadway Bridge.

“Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the event area,” the city noted in a statement. “Drivers are reminded to drive carefully and watch for participants.”
From 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., Fifth Avenue will be closed between 22nd and 24th streets, and 23rd Street will be closed between Fourth Avenue and Spadina Crescent to create a staging area for the parade.
Then, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., the following closures will be in effect:
- 24th Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues;
- Fourth Avenue between 24th and 25th streets;
- 22nd Street between First and Fourth avenues;
- First Avenue between 20th and 22nd streets;
- 20th street between First and Third avenues
- Third Avenue between 20th Street and Spadina;
- Spadina between Second and Third avenues;
- the Traffic Bridge; and
- Victoria Avenue between 11th and Main streets.
“Saskatoon Transit will temporarily adjust detour routes that currently run on Victoria Avenue and the Traffic Bridge during this event,” the city added.
“Routes 8, 81, 82, 84, and 86 will use 8th Street, Idylwyld Drive, and the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge to maintain service to and from the downtown area. Travel along Victoria Avenue, and the Traffic Bridge will resume once event-related closures are lifted.”
