The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) have had its hands full, dealing with multiple stabbings in just a few days.
On Monday, officers responded to a call at around 6:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Avenue R south.
Police found a male suffering from what they believed to be a non-life-threatening stab wound.
Shortly after, police received an update that a different man showed up to a nearby hospital also suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Investigation suggests that both stabbings are related and police continue to investigate.
Suspect fled stabbing on 22nd Street West
Officers were called to the 900 block of 22nd Street West for a report of a stabbing at around 11 p.m. on Monday.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound.
He was taken to hospital and treated for his injury.
SPS believe the suspect fled the scene and continues to investigate.
Man injured in stabbing on McPherson Avenue
Police were called to the 600 block of McPherson Avenue just after 4 a.m. on Saturday after getting a report of an injured man. The victim was found outside, “suffering from injuries including a serious stab wound.”
He was taken to hospital for treatment of the life-threatening injury, and police said the investigation indicated he may have been stabbed “in a nearby clearing on the riverbank.”
The assault is not believed to be random, police said.
Stabbing on Eighth Street East after group confronts thieves
Officers were called to the 2900 block of Eighth Street East at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday for a report of an injured person.
“Upon arrival, officers learned that a confrontation had occurred between two suspects and a group of persons that had observed them stealing property from a nearby yard,” police said in a statement.
“During the confrontation, a male victim received a non-life-threatening stab wound and was transported to hospital by paramedics. The suspects had fled the area prior to police arrival.”
The stabbing is under investigation by officers with the Serious Assault Unit, the police force noted.
19-year-old charged with impaired driving
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a sergeant patrolling in the Laurier Drive area saw a vehicle travelling at high speeds on Circle Drive.
When attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle kept going and ran a red light at the Warman Road and 51st Street intersection, before turning into a residential area.
Police located the empty vehicle in the 200 block of Pinehoue Drive.
A person was found nearby outside of an apartment complex, who was later determined to be the driver.
Through an investigation, the driver was found to be impaired and was arrested.
The 19-year-old was charged with impaired driving exceeding an .08 blood alcohol content, dangerous driving and failing to stop while being pursued by a police officer.
