Police located the man, who was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The RCMP said they determined the man was involved in a crash on Highway 55, near the turnoff to the Red Earth Cree Nation. The vehicle left the road and ended up in a creek, and police said the man was able to escape and ask for help from a passerby.
“With the assistance of the Carrot River Fire Department, a second adult male was removed from the vehicle,” the RCMP said in a statement. “EMS transported him to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.”
Police said the crash remains under investigation, with help from an RCMP collision reconstruction expert.
