A 31-year-old woman from James Smith Cree Nation has been charged with drug trafficking, as well as other charges, after a traffic stop on Thursday.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in a news release on June 13 that Melfort RCMP, assisted by security officers from James Smith Cree Nation, conducted the traffic stop on on June 12 around 8:30 a.m. on the First Nation in relation to an ongoing investigation.

RCMP said the officers could see drug paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle and then found and seized around 300 grams of cocaine, 175 grams of crack cocaine, 60 grams of methamphetamine and 70 grams of cannabis, as well as a large sum of cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The woman is facing three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and possession for the purpose of distributing charges.
She was scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on June 13.
