One of the men was located on May 22 by Carrot River RCMP on Red Earth Cree Nation. According to the news release, the man pointed a sawed-off firearm at an approaching officer but did not discharge it — instead ran into a forested area. Officers found him and seized a can of bear spray along with the firearm.
The following day, the other suspect was arrested on the First Nations.
The Red Earth Cree Nation is located about 225 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert.
They are both scheduled to appear on May 26 in the Melfort Provincial Court.
