Police in Saskatoon caught nearly 100 distracted drivers during a two-day traffic blitz held this week.
According to police, officers from the Saskatoon Police Service and other provincial agencies were stationed at various locations in and around the city enforcing road safety rules on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Over those two days, police caught 98 distracted drivers, who were primarily using cell phones behind the wheel.
Police also impounded four vehicles that were being driven by people who were allegedly impaired by cocaine and cannabis, and a speeder was arrested on an outstanding warrant after allegedly driving 111 km/h on Attridge Drive in a 60 km/h zone.
“Of the 44 commercial vehicles that were inspected, 16 required further assessment while 15 were removed from our roadways and deemed out of service,” the police service added.
Overall, the traffic blitz saw police hand out 345 tickets and issue 114 warnings.
“The Saskatoon Police Service would like to thank members of the public for accommodating this annual traffic safety initiative,” the police force added.
