A man who escaped the Besnard Lake Correctional Centre last month has successfully eluded Saskatchewan RCMP officers twice, and remains at large.
According to the RCMP, 26-year-old Kobe Kiseyinewakup was last seen by staff at the correctional centre in northern Saskatchewan at around 8 p.m. on April 14, and officers have been searching for him ever since.

In a statement issued on Friday, the RCMP said Mounties from the Loon Lake detachment have located Kiseyinewakup twice since his escape – once on April 26 and again on Wednesday – but in both cases he managed to elude the officers in a vehicle.
“During these incidents, officers have engaged their emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled,” the RCMP said.
Kiseyinewakup is facing additional charges of flight from a peace officer and operating a conveyance while prohibited in connection with the two incidents, police said.
“Investigators believe he may be in the Pierceland or Loon Lake areas. He may be driving or in a black Dodge Charger with dark tinted windows,” the RCMP noted.
Kiseyinewakup was described as five-foot-six in height, weighing roughly 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who spots him – or the Charger – was cautioned to stay away and contact police immediately.
