A 42-year-old from Moose Jaw was charged with the death of an inmate on February 8, 2021.
According to Saskatchewan RCMP, an “Investigation determined an adult male provided cocaine to the deceased prior to him going into medical distress.”
The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety said the 38-year-old man “was found in medical distress in a holding cell in the admissions area.”

Attempts by staff and paramedics to save the man’s life were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at about 3:40 p.m.
The 42-year-old was charged with manslaughter and trafficking cocaine on Jan. 6, 2025.
On Jan. 20, 2025, the accused appeared in the Regina Provincial Court.
