Aircraft fans got to take a special tour on the grounds of the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum this weekend for 2024 Aviation Days in Saskatoon.
The two-day event featured a pancake breakfast, barbecue lunch, face painting and the opportunity to climb into planes to get a view of the cockpit and inner workings.
This year’s event was hosted by Saskatchewan Air Ambulance in support of MS Research, and dark clouds and heavy winds did not stop visitors from filling up the museum grounds on Sunday.
Morning visitors could look up to see flypasts featuring three vintage aircraft — 1942 DeHavilland DH82C Tiger Moth, a Stearman PT-17, and a DHC-1 Chipmunk.

There were lots of first responders onsite showing off their aircraft, like the RCMP, STARS and the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance. Firefighters also made an appearance to show off their trucks.
The 2024 Aviation Days also showed a huge slice of Canadian history, featuring several Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft along with a Jeep used by the Canadian Army.
